P&O Ferries — VR Treasure Hunt
This app injects a vibrant dose of fun, and innovation, and elevates the passenger experience to new waves within the P&O Ferries brand.
Users are guided throughout the ferry using AR — they are prompted to follow the signs and collect coins at certain locations to unlock rewards.
The coins automatically unlock coupons for discounts and other incentives onboard the ferry. Digital way-finding helps locate the virtual coins and also familiarises passengers with key locations onboard.

After collecting the coins, rewards & offers are displayed — the user can now choose up to three offers to redeem.

Having chosen their offer the user is presented with a barcode to show the staff at the location.

This is visualised in a fun, timeline approach for the passenger — whilst providing P&O with data on high footfall areas. This overview mode also allows the user to backtrack to a place of interest that may have been missed during the ‘Treasure Hunt’ journey.
